Baseball, apple pie and God Save the Queen. What is this blasphemy? Well, British auto-making duo Jaguar Land Rover is supposedly looking to open a factory in the United States.
The firm wants to expand its global footprint and of course America is a critical market. A plant on this side of the Atlantic would allow the company to avoid currency fluctuations and sidestep import tariffs, issues that can wreak havoc on profit margins.

Supposedly the company is looking at the lower portion of the country as a possible location. They’re courting several states in Dixie, including South Carolina. The proposed factory would eventually produce up to 200,000 vehicles per year.
Jaguar Land Rover is expanding in other global markets as well. The firm will open a new factory in China tomorrow, their first in that country. They’re also expected to start producing vehicles in Brazil starting in 2016.
