Range Rover is updating its higher-end models with more technology including the company’s All-Terrain Progress Control system, which is designed to make off-road situations a walk in the park.

Both the Range Rover and Range Rover Sport are getting updates for 2015. These enhancements not only increase the number of high-tech features available in each vehicle but also improve efficiency.

But back to that All-Terrain Progress Control system. It’s essentially cruise-control for driving off road. Basically all drivers have to do is input a desired speed and then the car will maintain that velocity while monitoring the conditions and optimizing traction. It works both in forward and reverse gears and is active between 1 and 19 mph. This technology is a first for Land Rover and to broaden its appeal the system is available on both V6- and V8-powered vehicles.

Information about the car’s current speed as well as cruise-control information, satellite-navigation instructions and traffic signs are displayed on the windshield in front of the driver.

When it comes to economy the 3.0-liter supercharged V6 engine gets about 2 percent more efficient and the company is offering a fixed panoramic roof with power blinds. Information about pricing and availability has not been announced yet.
