The 2018 Land Rover Discovery Sport and Range Rover Evoque models benefit from two new engines.

Serving as two of the British automaker’s best-selling vehicles, the Discovery Sport and Evoque both receive the all-new Jaguar Land Rover 2.0-liter four-cylinder gasoline engines. The new engines replace the previous GTDi gasoline engine and are available in two power grades. The entry-level engine features 237 horsepower and 251 pound-feet of torque, while a 286-hp option is available with 295 lb-ft of torque, which is the most powerful engine ever offered on either model.

On the Evoque five-door model, the 286-hp engine is available on the HSE Dynamic and Autobiography trim levels, starting from $58,295 including destination. Pricing for the standard Evoque starts at $42,795.

Buyers who choose the higher-powered engine also receive the Dynamic exterior pack with enlarged front and rear bumpers, Gloss Black finishes for the grille, vents, and 20-inch five split-spoke alloy wheels.

The 2018 Land Rover Discovery Sport lineup is a bit different, with the standard SE model priced from $38,790. That model comes with the 237-hp engine, but buyers don’t have to step up to a much higher trim to opt for the 286-hp engine, which is available on the HSE model. The HSE with the 237-hp engine starts from $43,390 while the more powerful engine will cost $7,000 additional. At the top of the range is the HSE Luxury model, priced from $46,795. The 286-hp engine option is $6,100 extra on the HSE Luxury.

The British automaker has also announced fuel economy figures, with the 237-hp Discovery Sport returning 21 mpg in the city and 25 mpg on the highway for a 22-mpg combined rating. The more powerful 286-hp Discovery Sport gets a 20-mpg city rating and 25-mpg highway rating for a 22-mpg combined figure.

The Evoque returns 22 mpg in the city and 29 mpg on the highway for a 25-mpg combined rating with the less powerful of the two engines. Opting for more performance returns 21 mpg in the city and 29 mpg on the highway with a 24-mpg combined rating.

The Range Rover Evoque Convertible, which starts at $53,095 is only available with the 237-hp engine and returns 21 mpg in the city and 29 mpg on the highway.
