Land Rover has debuted the new Defender Works V8, an extra-powerful take on the iconic off-roader that celebrates the brand’s 70th anniversary in 2018.

The centerpiece of the Defender Works V8 is the 5.0-liter naturally aspirated engine, which makes 400 horsepower and 379 lb-ft of torque. It allows the SUV to sprint from 0-60 mph in 5.6 seconds, and hit 106 mph – impressive for something so aerodynamically challenged. The engine is paired with an eight-speed ZF automatic transmission, which features a ‘sport’ mode.
There’s also upgraded brakes, reworked suspension, beefed up roll bars and 18-inch alloy wheels wrapped in 265/65 all-terrain tires.

The limited run Defender will be available in eight different colors, which are complemented by a black roof, wheel arches, grille and other black exterior accents. Inside, ‘Windsor Leather’ adorns the dashboard, door panels, headlining and Recaro sports seats, while Land Rover Classic’s old-school looking infotainment screen has been fitted to the center stack,.

Both 90 and 110 wheelbase versions of the Defender Works V8 will be available. Just 150 will be made, and each at a starting price of £150,000 (about $207,000 USD). Unfortunately for American defender fans, it won’t be available in the U.S.
