Land Rover has taken the second-generation Range Rover Evoque to the Nurburgring for some test laps.
Possibly debuting later this year at the 2018 Paris Motor Show before it goes on sale in early 2019, the new Range Rover Evoque will continue with its “coupe SUV” styling. For the most part, the Evoque won’t see any real drastic changes, riding on an overhauled version of its current D8 architecture. It’s also Jaguar Land Rover’s only front-wheel-drive platform for transverse-engined models, so expect it to still be offered with front-wheel drive as standard and all-wheel drive as an option.
But changes to the platform will focus on improving ride comfort and a minor increase in size. A significant weight loss is unlikely since it is keeping with the current underpinnings, but a small diet is expected to keep the Evoque competitive.

Do expect to see a hybrid drivetrain of some sort heading to the Evoque. Prototypes have been caught by spy photographers testing what is believed to be a 1.5-liter Ingenium engine paired with an electric motor. The powertrain however, likely won’t be ready until the early part of the next decade.
Also, it has been reported the three-door version of the Evoque will be axed, leaving the five-door variant and the convertible in the lineup.
