Jaguar Land Rover North America has announced a voluntary recall of about 3,900 Range Rovers over problems with the seat side airbags.
A connector that controls the seat side airbags in 2013 and 2014 Range Rovers may become disconnected in the affected vehicles, causing those airbags to not operate properly. The disconnect will cause the airbag warning light to illuminate on the dash, and will prevent the side airbags from operating properly in a collision.
Dealers will increase clearance by removing some foam to ensure that the cables stay connected. The recall will begin on January 17, 2014. Affected customers may contact Land Rover at 1-800-637-6837 for more info.
